Dr. Larry Redmon, Extension Forage Specialist and I are investigating the possibility that Dupont's Pastora Herbicide (Nicosulfuron (Accent) + Metsulfuron Methyl (Ally)) will control King Ranch Bluestem in coastal bermudagrass pastures. Pastora has a label for controlling many grasses found in tame pastures but KR Bluestem is known to be very difficult to remove. In this test we are trying applications at different rates, different growth stage in the year and at 6 week retreatment in each growth stage application. We made our first application on July 29 and a second application for Numbers 4J and 5J on September 13.
