Pecan Trees: Do They Have a Taproot?

Most people believe that pecan trees have a huge taproot but that is just not true.  Pecan trees do have an extensive root system with many large roots.  These roots can go down many feet in search of water and nutrients but what you see above ground in limbs and branches is replicated below ground in the roots.
